| He played two parts. That's what happens when you get Welsh directors. |

Anyone out there know why this oddity occurred? |

| Circa the time of the Crimean War in 1854, Colour-Sergeants of some Rifle Regiments wore the insignia of a Colour-Sergeant on the right arm and three chevrons on their right arm.
At the time the Colour-Sergeants' badge was not as represented in Zulu Dawn in the Rifle Regiment mentioned above it was single gold chevron surmounted by a wreathed crown, crossed swords and a rifle 'hunting horn'.
The Royal Marine Light Infantry Colour-Sergeants wore an even more elaborate device in Full-Dress which included mermaids!
Line regiments were different again: colour badge on tunic consisting of one bar of double gold lace surmounted by a device representing a union flag, embroidered in silk, and cross-swords in silver.
Personally I think whoever advised on the uniforms on Zulu Dawn made an error, and may well have been influenced by an earlier uniform.
But that's just my opinion.

| Hi John Y. Thanks for the input. Yes, I think you may well be right about someone being influenced by earlier uniforms, it just looks rather odd wearing col sgt tapes on one arm and sgt's on the other. They made a similar mistake in 'The Baker Film' with col sgt Bourne's rank, and they were even on the wrong arm (as were others in the film). Thanks again John, much appreciated. |
