| There's a photo of men sitting and standing in the mouth of a cave, could that be the cave relating to the last of the 24th. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| Some very good photos - could be the same cave, but Frank/Gary can probably judge better. There are also a couple that look like Mangeni to me.

| HI Steve That could be the cave but there are several , I dont have my laptop which has my photos on it , so as I said , unless Frank posts his pcs , I'll check mine Fri sometime after I get home , you are correct , the next two photos are Mangeni , the one looking down to the pool certainly is , the other may well be looking up from the pool to the top of the cliff. There are some excellent pics . 90th |

| The website owner states Ian Knight gave him more information, so I guess if Ian was involved, it must be the cave in-question! Can't see any other reason for men being photographed in the mouth of a cave, along with other photos of Isandlwana. |

| What is really interesting about those photos is it shows the old road across the battlefields, to the North of the Colonial cemetery rather than South at present. Also the old bridal trail from South to North along the Manzimyama. The photo of the artillery approaching the back of the mountain I saw a few years back in the Talana museum. Nice find LH. |

| Good afternoon 24th, you have sharp eyes..i confess i never noticed any building, the photo below is taken from the same page..although the mag is dated 1961, i believe the photographs could date to the early part of the twentieth century, i'm sure some of our photo bod's could have an opinion as to the ground and what was sited there at that time. cheers. | My guess would be not a building but the colonial cemetery. The second image shows the colonial cemetery in the foreground with the large white cairn at the very top of the slope. It is visible in both images.
PS. No sign of memorial to 24th so photos could be pre 1914?
