Pte. William JENKINS, KIA Isandlwana

I've come across the following newspaper entry from Lloyd's Weekly Newspaper from September 26 1897:

From Capetown:- Relatives of Private William Henry Jenkins, of the 1-24th regt., who was killed at Isandula in 1879, are earnestly asked for by his son, Wm MICHAEL JENKINS

The only 1st Battalion William Jenkins killed at Isandlwana I can find is 1-24/1767, and according to The Noble 24th:

Born Marylebone, London
Married Elizabeth, wife placed on married establishment 11/02/1877
Effects recorded for claim by his widow under AGL461-E/80638/3

It appears from the newspaper then that Pte Jenkins' widow and son remained in South Africa after his death at Isandlwana, and it could be that William Michael is attempting to trace relatives back in Britain to inform them of his mother's death? (Just a guess on my part, if anyone has further information I'd be interested to know!)
