I am hoping anyone can help me with an image of Sergeant Major Dan Scott the brother of Lieutenant Durrant Scott of the Natal Carbineers I need it for my project a single image or a group photo will help

Hi Aussie The same photo of the 3 Scott brothers appears on the Maritzburg College War Graves Commission webpage along with a piece about Lt Scott and a number of other of their old boys killed at Isandlwana. Regards Phil.

In the photograph, the one seated on the left with the slung carbine and wearing Sergeant’s chevrons is Sergeant-Major Dan Scott. Standing in the centre wearing the white braided Trumpeter’s tunic is Trumpeter C. Scott and on the right with a sword and sabretache is Lieutenant Frederick John Durrant Scott.

By the way see the post by Phill (a different one) on 12.3.11 here titled ‘the Scotts of the Natal Carbineers’. It gives Trumpeter Scott’s full name as Clifford Walmsley Barlee Scott. Regards Phil
