Remembering Sir Stanley Baker Empty
PostSubject: Remembering Sir Stanley Baker    Remembering Sir Stanley Baker EmptyWed Jun 28, 2023 2:17 pm

I could not help but see that there were two classic Sir Stanley Baker war films on this afternoon on Film 4: The Guns of Navarone and Yesterday’s Enemy.  Then I realised the significance of today’s date 28th June, it is the anniversary of Sir Stanley’s passing in 1976 aged only 48 years.

I never got the chance to thank Sir Stanley for bringing the Defence of Rorke’s Drift to my attention -through the medium of film - and starting me on my path.  Few years back I made my amends to his son, Glyn, for this oversight in the spiritual home of the 24th, Brecon.

Thanks Stanley!
