Harrison, Richard (Mr. Warner's}, son of the Rev. B. J. Harrison, Beaumont Rectory, Essex. Football XI. 1854; left 1855 1 . Joined R.E. 1855; retired as Gen. 1904 ; served in the Crimea and Indian Mutiny (present at siege of Lucknow, Oude, and Rohilcund, and Trans-Gogra campaigns) and in China War, 1859-60 (present at capture of Taku Forts and Pekin) ; A.Q.M.G. in Zulu War (present at battle of Ulundi) and afterwards commanded the troops in the Transvaal during the Sekukuni War and Boer disturbances, 1879-80 ; A.A.G. in Egyptian War, 1882 (present at Tel-el-Kebir) ; with Nile Expedition, 1884-5 ; has 4 medals and 5 clasps ; Gov. R.M.A. Woolwich, 1889-90 ; in command of W. District, 1890-5 ; Quartermaster-Gen, of the Forces,1897-8; Inspector-Gen, of Fortifications, 1898-1903; C.B. 1879; C.M.G. 1882; K.C.B. 1889; G.C.B. 1903 ; 3rd class Osmanieh. Gen. Sir R. Harrison, G.G.B., Ashton Manor, Dunsford, Exeter.
