I now have the South Africa  Medal to my great grandfather  Sapper Francis Griffiths CULLERNE  Royal Engineers. He was born in 1859 became sick at Eshowe and invalided home (Date unknown). Died and buried in Isle of Man. He is mentioned in a couple of books. "Crossing the Buffalo" and "Widow making War".
I also have two newspaper pictures of him in RE uniform and one when he was in his sixties.
