Hello all,
Just wondered if anyone has any information on Isandlwana survivor Trooper Andrew Muirhead Natal Carbineers (other than the account of his escape) - I've found a profile on a genealogy site with the following information and think it could be the same person:
Andrew Muirhead Jr 1854-1892
Born 14 May 1854 Fort Napier, Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa
Son of Andrew Muirhead Sr (45th Regiment) & Margaret Craig
Brother of John Muirhead, Edmund Muirhead, Robert Craig Muirhead & Charlotte Mary Muirhead
Husband of Hester Martha Alette (van Rooyen) Muirhead (married 20 May 1884 in Kranskop)
Father of Andrew John Muirhead
Died 6 July 1892 in Nqutu, Zululand
Occupation: Clerk & interpreter, farmer
I'm hoping to find some info which links Trooper Muirhead to the individual above, the only extra information given in Terry Sole's book For God, Queen & Colony is that he was a chemist from Pietermaritzburg.
As ever, any help would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Tim
