There are two Willis's in the 58th
Both are privates
1/29B/689 G Willis 1879 clasp
2/ 29B/512 W Willis 1879 clasp

Hi All,
William Willis 29/512 58th, attested 5 Dec 1876 age 19, born 1857 Durston Northampton. To S Africa S.S. Russia 26 Feb 1879 arrived Natal 4 April 1879, Transvaal 20 Nov 1879, to 25 April 1883, Zulu and first Boer Wars, discharged 12 Dec 1888 at Northampton. Married Jane Gorsley at the Registry Office Northampton 5 Feb 1884. Re-enlisted 13 March 1900 to 12 March 1901, re-enlisted again to Militia 4 march 1902 discharged 2 Oct 1907 total service 17 yrs.
1891 census Northampton, m Jane 4 children, he is a Shoe Finisher. 1901 census 47 Clare St Northampton, M. Jane 8 children, he is shoe finisher, 1911 and 1921 census 6 chapel place Northampton M. Jane 5 children, still shoe finisher. Probably dies Sept Qtr 1921 Northampton District, age 63.

Hi Again,
George Willis, 29/689 58th attested 1 Aug 1877 age 23, B.1854 Cranford Kettering, to S Africa 26 feb 1879 to 12 feb 1884, Zulu and First Boer Wars, Discharged 1 Aug 1889, 12 yrs. Married Leah Newman 5 march 1885 at Cranford St John's. 1891 census Cranford, at In-Laws, he is a Ironstone Labourer, M.Leah 1 child. George dies 1893 and was Buried 29 Oct 1893 at St John's Churchyard Cranford.
