Natal Witness 8th February 1879
It now appears that only three of the 54 mounted men from Edendale were killed at the fight at Sandlwana. This speaks a great deal for their horsemanship. Some of them lost their horse and guns. Mr G Shepstone's groom and an interpreter to the surgeon of the camp are missing. The men who have returned have reported to be the reverse of disheartned and have as much confidence as ever in the Europeans.
Julian I checked England's Sons to find their names but, if I'm reading it right, you only have two listed, Klaas Sopela and Ezra Tyingila.
Gary did you take a picture of the memorial?
