Lionshead It was indeed a magnificent sunrise , finally home after a 38 hr Journey . That's the only problem , the time to get there and back , wont stop me going in November with Ian Knight's group , if we get the numbers ? . Then of course work need to give me annual leave again 90th

I thought flying out from the U.K. was long enough! let alone what you have endured, but you have fantastic memories no doubt, and pictures to share on here, hopefully?

You did this trip the right way 90th, on foot and listening to the voices........that's the mystique and attraction of the battlefield. Now get your kids to show you how upload photos. Looking forward to those, different shots, the bones etc.

Hi Frank Spot on my friend , having done it the both ways has been an excellent experience , both are fantastic to do , if someone is fortunate enough to do it I cant split which is the best . I can say , there is certainly something to be said walking the Battlefield by yourself , no-one else in sight , just the wind , and the occasional bird cry is certainly something that will stay with me forever , as it no doubt has done for others who've done so previously ! . Very , very emotive . If anyone is thinking of going , dont think ...... SAVE & DO !! ( If not, beg , borrow or Steal !! ) 90th

Your last post above, has got me thinking that I may have to pay another visit to the Battlefield and do the lone walk. I was there on my first visit with a friend. I must admit that on my first occasion with only him there, I did gat more than a little overawed and emotive. It is a special place, and together with Rorkes Drift, well worth the effort (and expense) to visit. Nitro450

Hi Nitro I couldnt have agreed more , the first time you go it's awe inspiring , I believe a couple of visits are in order to take it all in , due to the large area , and the lay of the land etc etc . I dont really believe you can soak it all in with a day visit etc , certainly , one needs time there alone , or with a group , either one is an excellent way to see and do it , especially with someone like Ian Knight , who has been there on probably more than 100 or so occasions ! . .
