| Can anyone point me at all in the direction of anything that would give me details of Francis Broadfoot Russell's wife: marriage date, name, kids, what happened to her after 1879, and so on? I've reached a dead end. |

| Julian,
Here are a couple of newspaper articles that mention his children. I can email you the newspaper articles, if you like.
The Illustrated London News, April 5, 1879, in an article on Isandlwana, mentions the “Major Russell leaves a widow and three children.”
The Daily Express, Dublin, March 13, 1888 lists the death of one of his children. “Russell – March 11, Francis Cole Russell, eldest son of the late Major Francis Broadfoot Russell, Royal Artillery, aged 12.”

| “The Homeward Mail”, November 8, 1875 had the announcement of the birth of a son. “Russell – Oct 2, at Aden, wife of Lieut. F. B. Russell, R.A., son.”
(This would be the eldest child, and the one who died, at age 12, in 1888.)
