Lt.Colonel W. B. Logan served in the Kaffir w-ar in 1877-78, and took part in the operations against the Galekas, including the engagement at the Perie Bush ; also served in the Zulu war in 1879 (Medal with Clasp).

Lt L.M.K. Logan 2/ 24th Regt served with the regt throughout the campaign ; Lt Logan acting as Qr- Mr to the batt. from Jan to May , and afterwards , until the end of Sept , as Adjt to Lt Col Black .
