Hi All,
Alexander Algernon Osborn born 24 Oct 1858, he was baptised 17 Feb 1859 at St Saviour's Parish Church Walmer, Kent, to QMSgt William 1st Depot Batt [Royal Engineers??] and Henrietta, address is given as South Barrack Walmer. A passport was issued about 10 Jan 1876 to Alex at his mothers request. Alexander married Jennie McFarlane in Hull 27 April 1882. He received a Diploma from the Royal Agricultural College in 1906 his address is Johannesburg. His mother was living in Trowbridge Wiltshire when the passport was issued in 1876 by 1881 she is a widow, and dies in Trowbidge on 20 Nov 1889 she is buried in Trowbridge Cemetery.
Alexander A. Osborn died 15 July 1918 and is buried in the Old Cemetery Newcastle, Natal. A Photograph of his grave is on the eGGsa gravestone website of South Africa.
