Zero tolerance to harassment and bullying. |

| He commanded the Regiment during the War. Was in command of the advance post at Landman’s Drift. Present at the Battle of Ulundi. (Mentioned in Despatches; C. B.) Malthus Sydenham (1831 - 1916). Lieutenant-Colonel, 94th Regiment. Commanded the 94th, which arrived in Durban in April 1879 and formed part of the 2nd Division. Built the post and depot at Conference Hill in May, and commanded it until the advance on Ulundi began in June. Subsequently commanded the Regiment when it formed part of Baker Russell’s Column. Present At Ulundi. CB. Date of Birth - 29th May 1831 Date of First Commission - 24th January 1852 Date of Substantive Lieutenant-Colonel - 31st October 1877 He retired from the 94th Foot on the 7th August 1880 with the honorary rank of Colonel The date of nomination for his CB was 27th November 1879 South African War - 1879 - Zulu Campaign. In command of 94th Foot. Battle of Ulundi. Despatches, London Gazette, 21st August 1879. Medal with Clasp. CB. Source ‘1884 Army List’ (p 1007, 1115, 1178 & 1328) |
