Interesing story about his grandfather and the Duke of Wellington.
What William doesn't tell you is that, according ot the medal rolls he did not recieve an AZW medal as he was in prison.

Hi All
No Military Records, Married Alice Ida Field [Poss Cousin] 10 Nov 1889 at All Saints Whitstable. 1901,1911,1921, census, 1939 Register and his Probate all give the same address 6 Bexley Street, Whitstable. He is a greengrocer then by 1939 a widow and retired greengrocer. Born 8 Feb 1858 Woolwich, Kent. He dies 15 Sept 1945 at Whitstable Hospital, the death was registered in Bridge Kent District. I would expect him to be buried in Whitstable.
