We are all here to communicate and enjoy the various discussions and information on the Anglo Zulu War of 1879. Opinions will vary, you will agree and disagree with one another, we will have debates, and so it goes.
There is no excuse for harassment or bullying of anyone by another person on this site.

| All I have is: 2-24 1309 HERBERT, Private Henry – 2nd Battalion 24th Regiment Service details: Served in the Ninth Kaffir & Zulu Wars 1877-8-9. Arrived at Casemate Barracks, Gibraltar in the Mediterranean 13/1/1880 aboard H.M.S.Orontes. Honours/awards: Long Service Good Conduct Medal 1830. Recommended 31/3/1878 under AGL34. South Africa Medal with clasp 1877-8-9.

| Enlisted London on 9th February 1860 aged 22yrs. Height 5' 4 inches. On pay of 2/24th Depot Company Cork, from 19th February. Still serving in September1880 as far as I have transcribed. |

| Hi All Just a little to add, born circa 1838 Kingston London, discharged Secrunderabad 24 Jan 1881 after serving 20 years and 345 days, including 15 years abroad. Final Discharge at Netley Hospital 7 June 1881. Cant pin down birth or death dates. Rai KLH |
