Being part of the British forces, I would expect they were armed with MH rifles. So f you establish how many members of the RA were at Isandlwana that's about how many had rifles.

Snider Carbines Mk3, corroborated by Woodgate who recorded an RA Marked example recovered at Khambula.

This is an RA Marked example from my collection

Thank you...

After Michael Barthorp only from 1878 , the gunner mounted on the limber had the 20-round pouch - for the two carbines per gun strapped to that vehicle...

A gun = 9 gunners with 2 carbines only with sword bayonet ...
