| The only Skene I found in the 90th Regt Medal Roll was Private 1014 Skehan M . Medal with 1879Clasp .

He is under the name Alexander Gordon 90th in the medal roll the other names he inherited in later life.

| Stumbled across a complete family history of Alexander Gordon Cuming Skene in an obituary to his father on page 6 of the Banffshire Journal and General Advertiser, Tuesday 14th March 1882. Its too long to copy on to here but this is what it says about Alexander:- "His only son by his first marriage Alexander Gordon Cuming Skene, who succeeds him is a lieutenant in the Scottish Rifles, late 90th Regiment, into which he passed, after being for some time in the Aberdeenshire Highlanders, and for which he served under Colonels Palmer and Sir Evelyn Wood through the late Caffre and Zulu wars including the actions of Kambula, Ulundi etc.for which he has received the medal and clasps" Kate  |
