Hi All,
Henry Saunders No Military, 1911 census 45 Adams Street, Walsall, he born 1857/58 Staffordshire he is a Buckle Ting or Tong Maker, M.to Annie with 6 Children all born Walsall, Sarah Ann b.1898 marries Davies in 1917. Henry dies Dec Qtr in Walsall District 1933.
Whilst researching the name i found Henry Saunders attested 6 Nov 1867 age 23, born Great Torrington Devon 1844. To 45th Foot, transferred 58th No.1745, 17 Feb 1879, to South Africa aboard the Ship Russia 26 Feb 1879. Natal 4 April 79, St Helena 30 Sept 83, PMBurg 14 Aug 1884, Cape Town 13 Oct 1884, Discharged at Warley 6 Nov 1888 21 Yrs. Served Zulu No Clasp Medai and 1st Boer War. LSGC Medal.
