"Ex-Soldier's Funeral. The death took place on Sunday of Mr. Arthur Bancroft, Newtown, at the age of 60 years. Mr. Bancroft served in the Wilts Regiment from 1878 to 1881, and saw service during the Zulu War, from which campaign he was invalided home. He joined the Wilts Regiment at the commencement of the Great War, and was afterwards transferred to tho Royal Defence Corps from which he received his discharge on the cessation of hostilities. Mr. Baucroft leaves a widow and thirteen children. He was buried with military honours on Wednesday a firing party from the Wilts Regiment, Devizes attending"
