"VETERAN OF THE ZULU WAR, The death is reported from Bradford of Serg. Chas. Cass, a veteran of the Zulu War. He served with the 7th Hussar; and the 1st King's Dragoon Guards in India and South Africa, and was one of the force sent to capture Cetewnyo. He one the few British soldiers who escaped from the terrible massacres of Isandlhwana when black warriors crept ,stealthily upon a British force encamped there and nearly annihilated it."

Western Mail - Thursday 30 March 1922

"Serg C. Cass a veteran of the Zulu War, has died at Bradford. He was one of the force sent to capture Cetewayo and a survivor of the massacre of Isandlhwana"

Hi All,
Charles A Cass 1891 census Belgrave St, Manningham, at Aunt's he is a Temple Maker. 1911 census 28 Belgrave Place Bradford married to Esther now Night Watchman. 1922 Probate Charles Allcorn Cass died 24 March 1922, of 28 Belgrave Place, Manningham, Bradford, to Widow Annie.
