| The famous (possibly infamous) Valentine Baker died in 1887. This has to be a different man who shared the same name. |

| Funnily enough I've just finished reading an interesting book about Valentine which tries to clear his name. Called 'A Question of Honour' it is written by Anne Baker and though it puts forward a valid case one has to remember when reading it who the author is!!
'A Question of Honour. The Life of Lieutenant General Valentine Baker Pasha' by Anne Baker ISBN 0 85052 496 2 Pen and Sword |

| 'Imperial Vanities' - a book about the Baker brothers - is another book which puts a case for the defence. |
