hi All,
On the 1939 list George Cox born 5 July 1953 LCC Home for Aged Men Ceders Road Lambeth London, Probably died not long after the newspaper article, died june Qtr 1941 in Battersea District. His time for the 25 mile run is almost Olympics standard.

I also found William George Cox, enlisted 9 June 1877, to 19th Brig/No.1063 80th Regt, to S Africa 2 Feb 1878, Middleburg 25 Aug 1878, Pretoria 23 March 1879, to UK 12 May 1880, discharged 8 June 1889 at Lichfield, born Whitehaven Cumberland 1854.
