James Beardmore Despatch rider behind enemy lines? Empty
PostSubject: James Beardmore Despatch rider behind enemy lines?   James Beardmore Despatch rider behind enemy lines? EmptySun Sep 11, 2022 4:10 pm

James Beardmore was born in 1859 in Codnor Park, Derbyshire. He was the son of a laborour James and Jemima Beardmore. He had one sister Elizabeth and in 1871 they were living at Nottingham Road, Codnor.
He was educated from the 8th May 1871 at Codnor Church Of England School.

I can't find a military record for him nor any trace of him in the medal rolls. Being a despatch rider (if true) suggests Imperial Mounted Infantry or he was a colonial.
But behind enemy lines? Suspect
