Private 2018 George Berridge, 99th Duke of Edinbrugh's (Lanarshire) Regiment, did take part in the Anglo-Zulu of 1879.

Hi All,
George Berridge was born in 1860 at Oxton Southwell Notts. He attested in the 1/10th on 12 April 1878 age 18. Transferred 99th 1 Dec 1878 and sent to South Africa on 4 Dec 1878. served zulu war at Inyezane and Gingindlovu according to his papers. served Bermuda, S Africa again in 1881 then India finally returning to the UK in 1890 and discharge 3 July 1890. Re-enlisted 24 May 1901 and served until 31 Dec 1905 in the Royal Garrison Artillery in Malta and South Africa. Served in the Labour Corps as a Lieutenant probably during WW1.
Married [1] Lucy Strutt in Oxton 1890 2 kids, [2] Bertha in Southwell District 1928.
He dies 23 Jan 1949 Add Main St Oxton Notts. Age 89 Ex Sgt Maj North Staffs Regt.
So he served three periods in the Army.
