| Kate,
Doesn’t say he served in the campaign only he was there at the time.
I conclude from the report his volunteer service was local to Huddersfield, possibly in one of the West Riding volunteer corps.

| Thanks John I just put 'Colonial Volunteer?' in the title field to make it easier to search in case he crops up in any AZW correspondance in the future. |

| Hi All, A bit more on the Staff Clerk, he was discharged at Dover aged 47 in1902 intended residence Brixton. On 1911 census James and Ethel are living at Effra Road Brixton with 4 kids, first born Netley, the other three all in Dover. I expect james died in 1940 and registered in Camberwell district. He is buried with ethel, in Lambeth Cem Con/D.3/ 139. Rai Keynshamlighthorse. |
