Hi All,
James Penketh 80th, enlisted as a Drummer on 12 June 1869 age 15 born 12 June 1854 Salford Manchester. He married Kate Helen French at Lichfield in 1882 and had 6 kids. Served in the ranks from 1869 to 15 Feb 1893, served cape 11 march 1877 to 11 May 1880 his papers say served Sekukuni and Intombi, Promoted Quartermaster 1893, would also serve in the 2 Boer War, 12 Feb 1900 to 11 Aug 1901, medal with 3 clasps. Also LSGC medal. Later life missing?? only death that fits age is 1 May 1939 age 83 [2 years difference] and is buried in Teignmouth Cemetery Devon.
