Natal Witness 6th September 1881
Obituary
We regret to announce the somewhat sudden death of Sub- Inspector Jackson of the Natal Mounted Police. The late Mr Jackson who had previously held a commission in the army, had been in the police force for a number of years, and was a thoroughly efficient officer - popular alike with the Commandant and his men. He died at Estecourt where he was stationed and leaves a young widow and child, who have our sympathy i their bereavement.
