Another hard one find and not completed, from the reports, he served in Thomas Marshall's wing[squadron] of the Natal Light Horse, there is a G Burton Sgt Maj on the roll. By 1893 he is living in Devonport, and retires from the 3rd Suffolk Regt in 1899.

On the 1891 census Portsea rtd Major M.to Elizabeth 3 children all born Leeds Yorkshire, He married Elizabeth Ann Ellis 9 Sept 1880 Christchurch Crewe Cheshire. He possibly remarries in 1901 and 1906 both in Sussex. But not much else.
