There was no Royal Marine Artillery officer named Sadler aboard any Royal Navy ship that participated in the Zulu War or with the Royal Marine Battalion sent to South Africa aboard HMS Jumna late in the war.

After a little more research I have found that George Thomas Sadler was not an officer in the Royal Marine Artillery. It was much later in life while living in Australia that his became an honorary Major.

1872 George Thomas Sadler joined the Royal Marine Artillery at Eastney
1876 Sadler was married at Portsea.
1881 census lists him as a "widower" sergeant in the Royal Marine Artillery.
1884 Sadler was discharged by purchase.

Unfortunately, Royal Marine records for men who left the service before 1885 were not kept, so there is no way to confirm that he had any service in the Zulu War. I have not been able to find a muster roll for the Royal Marine Artillery aboard HMS Jumna that was part of the Royal Marine Battalion.

It is quite possible that Sadler did serve with the Royal Marine Battalion sent out to serve in South Africa for the Zulu War.
