Served as Adjutant to Lieutenant-Colonel Tatton Brown throughout the war. Was present in that capacity at the Battle of Ulundi. (Mentioned in Despatches; Brevet of Major)

Grave, Clifton, St. Andrew's Churchyard, Bristol, England

The grave is a horizontal stone slab with a curved top inscribed with details of family interments. It can be found by entering the arched gates on Clifton Hill and following the path forward, passing the site of the church which was destroyed by enemy action during the Second World War. Locate and enter the gate in the right-hand railings, turn immediately right and the plot is about 15 yards forward.
