Lieutenant. James, W.C. 2nd Dns. Served with the 17th Lancers during the whole of the advance of that regiment. in Zululand with the 2nd Division. Was present at the cavalry affair at eZungeni, and at the battle of Ulundi. Was wounded during the latter engagement, in the pursuit, with an assegai, and had a horse also wounded with a Bullet. Returned with the regiment. to Pinetown, and embarked on the 27th August.
