Never heard of him. But what a great account. I guess we can put hin down to another mystery person of the Zulu war. The battle must have shook him up enought for him to have travelled over 400 miles and cross ten rivers.

hi graves, I have just spent 2 hrs pouring through books looking for Dawson , the only mention is in " The Medal Roll " Army Pay Dept . Dawson H.C " No Clasp " which means he didnt cross into Zland , so therefore could not have been an Isandlwana survivor. As I did check " Englands Sons " which is a casualty and survivor roll of Isandlwana and R.D by Julian Whybra bears no mention of Dawson at all . cheers 90th.
