| The old saying buyer beware, I was made aware of this rifle at a Northern Dealer
http://www.jcmilitaria.com/details.asp?ID=5700
The selling price of £925 made me cough a bit, then I had to laugh at his "Its not one of those Nepalese Rifles", quote. Ok not Nepal, but dodgy Afghan!.
There are lots of both copy and re-worked Martinis out there at the moment, here is another example, and, at a very high price too. For the un-initiated they are hard to spot. Here is a good example of a "make good and dupe",
I could tell at a glance...could you? Before you read down this post, have a look, see if you spot the deliberate mistakes on the the gun, and the detail on the receiver. (answers at bottom of this post)
Firstly its not a Mk2 at all, its a Mk3. (No forend pin and long sight bed), then the receiver. a) Ghost markings b) No full stop after Enfield c) the 6 of 1876 gone south, d) awful quality of lock viewers mark e) the two 1's on the skew.
When are these prople going to try and stop extorting money out of collectors?
Buyer beware! |
