Armstrong Muzzle Loading Rifled Cannon Canister Shell (7lb)

I have a shell casing which was found at a battle site - the type is shown in the title. Unfortunately, we don't know which site - we do know that only a couple of rounds were fired. Would like to know if anyone has any ideas about this and whether it's of interest. It would be fascinating to know who fired it and at whom.
