    Hi everyone, I'm new to this wonderful forum and having been interested in the Zulu wars for many years ,have never had the time it seems, to get really involved, finally I have managed to get hold of a deactivated MH.

    I'm not sure what mark it is, I guess a mkII, what confuses me is that on the righthand side of the weapon are the following markings-
    S A 1877 just in front of the fore-end and just before the cocking indicator there is a crown, possibly KC under that 1887 and finally under that "Maistry".

    Looks like an India word possibly?

    Can anyone help?
