Is there any way you can post an alphabetic index of previous posts?. There does seem alot of past topics re-appearing where questions have already been well discussed

Neil. It's something I would have to look into. I'm fairly sure it's based on Time & Date only. Will get back to you.

I understand, just a long winded way of going about it.
I am not complaining, just passing comment.

I would like to know if members would like it to go back to the way It was. I can see Neil's reasoning for requesting the change, but sorting alphabetically doesn't take into account punctuation, and numbers.

Prefered the old way.
I use the search box. For exsample in the search box type " ammunition " then press the search button. It brings up every topic with the word "ammunition" Easy When you know how.

The old way for me too.
There is already a fantastically useful tool on here called the Search facility.
Without sounding like goody perfect twoshoes - I am certainly not perfect and I know you'll disagree with that - but if I am thinking of posting up a new topic, I search the key words of the title I have in mind first. And if I want to find a particular topic i do the same - eg Search "Martini Henry firing". Perhaps there should be a message or something in a prominent place, to encourage and remind users to do this before posting up a new topic and to find ones already in existence.
