I would like to put down the Battalion orders for the 5th of february 1879 Rorkes Drift --- No 6 934 Pte John Williams E Company having died in hospital this day is struck off the strength of the Battalion accordingly.-- John was my Grandfathers brother By Order G.S Banister.

Would you kind gentlemen help me with some service information on 2nd lieutenant Lenox Gore Dobree he was on guard duty on the 5th february 1879 Rorkes Drift commisioned 16th February 1878 F Coy. Dobree was reputed, at least, to have been one of the men who was with the French Prince Imperial when he was left to be killed in a sudden raid in the Zulu war. Resigned his commision Married 1880. Emigrated to Punta Arenas, Chile
