PostSubject: Did they or didnt they take part in the zulu war ; Patrick Gallagher 1854 - 1908.   Patrick Gallagher 1854-1908 EmptySun Jun 24, 2012 11:45 pm

Hi Littlehand .
I checked through the Forsyth Medal Roll and didnt find his name among the 91st Regt .
Cheers 90th. Salute

PS. It actually says in the story on Patrick that he spent from 1877 till I think 1881 at Stirling Castle in Scotland , before leaving for peace keeping service AFTER the zulu war !. Cant say I've ever heard of any peace keeping operations where they sent troops to Sth Africa after the war . If you can get his service record / Attestation papers it will shed some light on his service period . '' Graves1879 '' could well be our man in that regard !. Salute
Cheers 90th. Very Happy

Hi All
If you look at his papers on the website mentioned, you can see he went to S africa in 1881 so he missed the Zulu War.
