Hi All,
Can't connect to Zulu War but possible. John Charles Kenyon born circa 1859 probably Burnley Lancashire. Enlisted 17th Batt Australian Imperial Forces as L/Corp 4755, 25 Jan 1916 to 9 Feb 1919. Residance South Geelong, Died 1945 Victoria Australia.

Last Rank: Private
Last Unit: 29th Infantry Battalion
Home town: Geelong, Greater Geelong, Victoria
Occupation: Sailor
Died: Geelong, Victoria, Australia, 16th March 1945
Cemetery: Geelong Eastern cemetery, Victoria. Church of England section, Row 12, Grave 183, Interred on the 29th March 1945, No 18889 commemorated with a plaque in the Victoria Garden of Remembrance.

BIOGRAPHY:
Husband of Charlotte Jane Kenyon nee Norton of 86 Mckillop street Geelong, Victoria. John and Charlotte married on 6th March 1889 at the Registry office, William James Vale, S.A.

Commenced return to Australia on 8th April 1917, on board H T Borambah.

It also states in my post above that his occupation to be that of a sailor. May he have served in the Naval Marines in the Zulu war I wonder.

John born in Witton Lancashire, Eng, 1859
Charlotte born March 20, 1866 in Willunga, South Australia.
