If you were the king of the Zulus at the end of the year 1878 ...
What was your military strategy, your plan of defense of Zululand ?

Good question Pascal, Zulu could do much more, after Gingindhlovu, they would have to change tactics, throwing local attacks on the mass of fortd with littles garrisons that ranged ahead of two British divisions during the second invasion, not to initiate major attacks as for the battle of Ulundi, do as the Xhosa or better, as the Matabele in 1896 or the Boers in 1902 ...
Do everything possible to save time by dragging things, seek allies ect ...To seek white mercenaries and set up a small cavalry as in 1888...
Ah if your ancestor, Mr Lambert was still alive, it would have changed of music for the British...

Absolutly nothing. Sit back and wave as they march past. When they get to Ulundi invite them in for a cup of tea and tell Chemsford what an idiot he is. Then totally ignore them ! Gandhi had the right idea, passive resistance.

Hello to both
Matt ,ok for a cup of tea, but tea poisoned :p;: ...
Fred , regarding attacking the british columns in march, it could be efficasse, if the attack is sudden and massive, especially if the royal zulu army has not been identified by the British ...
In this case, I think the success, as the British would have panicked, especially in January, they were forbidden to form lageers (d'ailleurs in such attacks, they would not have had the time ...) and they did not re-enacted the square formation ...
