Emma Durham Empty
PostSubject: Emma Durham   Emma Durham EmptyTue Apr 02, 2013 7:48 am

The following from ' Sister Janet ' by Brian Best & Katie Stossel , page 143 .
Sister Emma Durham , the comic in the party who had been assigned to Ladysmith , frequently caused great mirth with her
repeated account of the arrival of Mrs Deeble with her Netley group of Nurses and of their soaking in the storm . Emma was a great
raconteur , mimicking the portly Mrs Deeble leading her ' Gels ' out to the tents , having declined the accommodation that Emma had provided for them and then , like a mother hen , leading the bedraggled and wide eyed group back from their storm battered and collapsed tents .
90th. Salute
