| Hi all, i watched with interest the formation of this site, maybe i was a catalyst for the person/persons. reason for choosing to leave that ' other place '.and set up this fantastic resource. but, no im not that egotistical to really think that...
However i have cautiously dipped my toe into this domain and was met with common courtesy and friendliness..
My concern is this..if you look at my posts. concerning rare items ie Kenneth Griffith's B.A.H. and Booth vc which had people theorizing about how to obtain a view of these very items.. i said, I HAVE GOT THESE ( sorry for shouting ). if any of you want a dvd copy of any of them i will apon a P.M. send you both absolutely free. gratis.inc pp. just with one proviso. that person selects and does the same for any other interested party. a good chain. its so good to share. but, if this site is maybe just dealing in the virtual cyber- space then reality does not apply. so you never even saw this.. regard Les. |

| Hi Les Would love copies, sorry I didnt get the impression you were offering copies. I will PM you an address, Im more than happy to pay any costs involved. A big issue with this forum is not only with what visibly takes place but the amount of friendshios struck up and carried on into other forms of communications. There are a number of authors and historians involved on the forum under various guises and the facility to share info with them is of immense value, so yes in a way the forum is all talk, but so much more. Cheers Mate:Salute: |

| Hi xhosa2000. I may be wrong in saying but I've tried to find ' Symbol Of Sacrifice ' , and from memory , I was told that the only copy or what was left of it was incorporated into ' Black As Hell , Thick As Grass '' . Happy to be corrected . Cheers 90th. |

| impi, thank you for that it was on a knives edge i recall that when he was suspended the topic was the exit of Melvill and Coghill from the battle- field quite a lively debate i remember..two days after Pete's suspension i wrote a post defending him to the max..of course i was booted off.and quite right to..that other place was in my opinion riddled with suedo class con- tious sycophantic dinosours (personally my own opinion)
Of course there were\are people of excellent calibre there as well inc many respected historians and amateurs as..but i still although blocked visit the forum with my nose press up against the window pane to see whats being debated.yawn nothing has changed the mad colonel is still bullying, the site will go because it has stood still, moribund. right end of what turned into a mild rant. all opinions are my own.
Lastly COLL if you read this please join this friendly democratic site.you were very much the stage brigand, and i miss your enthusiasm very much. sorry impi none of this was aimed at you.its just that ive wanted to say this for a while regards Les. |

| I love this man's humour. Just to make sure, I re-read the topic inquestion. And rightly enough Mr Knight stood shoulder to Shoulder with Pete unfortunately they both fell. Just as Melville and Coghill did! - Xhosa wrote:

| So Xhosa. You have dipped your toes, in this domain, you hit the ground running with your posts to date. Have you formed an opinion yet! is this site all talk, or just a place where we enjoy meeting up, having the occasional row which normally ends up in the ring, but mostly friendly banter. |

| My doors open! That's if you like trawling the net, looking for bits of information that may have been missed. Or new participants of the Zulu war that has been long forgotten! |
