The renowned Zulu War Author & Historian Mr Ian Knight has agreed to take part in a question and answer session exclusively for us on the 1879 Zulu War forum.  If you have any questions for him, please send them to me - don't post them on the open forum - and I will select the best to pass on to him. Closing date is the end of this month (September) - hopefully we'll be able to post the replies early in October.
Possible subjects for questions might be his books past and future, his views on various historical issues connected with the war or Zulu history in general, his TV documentaries, his own adventures in Zululand, the history of his involvement in the field and his influences, his thoughts on the films, books he has admired, where he thinks the studies in the field are going, his part in the archaeology at iSandlwana, and his involvement in tourism to the battlefields.

If you would like to ask Ian a question, forward you question to me phzuluwar7@gmail.com Ian has agreed to answer no more than 50 questions.

Please note Ian Knight will not be drawn into questions relating to other authors and their work unless it is on a positive note.

I look forward to receiving your questions.

Same pleasure with the contributions of Julian Whybra an "academic historian" and John Young an "professional researcher" (as he says) on this forum (and anothers well known).
I don't forget they give up their precious time and knowledge - free - every day.
We are not enough grateful.
Many thanks to them.

Ian has finished answering all the questions submitted by forum members to the tune of 50 pages. I will receive them shortly. I'm sure we all appreciate the time and effort Ian as put in, and for agreeing to take part. I’m also sure it will enhance our knowledge of the Zulu War.
And finally a big thanks to the members who submitted the questions. agree
