Hi Aussie It's easy to forget or not see something , I didnt see the Natal Carbineers Monument last year , I was back a couple of months when I saw posted on here , I checked my pics and I hadnt taken a photo of it , so this year I made sure I got to it . To answer your questions the Archbell grave , if you walk into the colonial cememtery from the road , it's on your left , I'm sure you can work out it's positioning by the background etc etc ? . There are 7 or 8 Cairns at Anstey's position , 5 of these are in a row from memory , it was the third of these where Dalton the xulu guide found the bones which I photographed , I've walked the trail down to the buffalo twice , last year we crossed the river by a truck tyre being pulled across , this year we walked ( Crab like ) across the river . It's a few hundred meters to Anstey's from the saddle , not sure of the actual distance , it's an easy walk to there . It's a lot harder once you cross the stream , which has been basically empty the two times I've crossed it , just some pools here and there . Going up Mpathe is hard work as is going down , the path is a lot more difficult after Anstey's position . Hope this helps ? Cheers 90th
