REPLACEMENT OF LOST RIBBON FOR 1879 ZULU WAR CAMPAIGN MEDAL

Good Afternoon,

My wife has in her possession a medal issued to her Grandfather. Unfortunately the ribbon is missing.

Can a ribbon for this medal still be obtained and if so from where?

Hoping for some assistance in this matter.

Try one of the locals first, ie southafricanmilitaria.com based in the NW, Rustenberg .
He normally keeps stock of the important and local ribbons.
Another option is definitely Ebay, but postage and delivery time becomes a factor as it does for Bigbury Mint down in Devon ( a superb supplier), but costly ( listed on WWW.)

Medal was awarded to Trooper Harry Boik of the Natal Mounted Police.

In Terry Sole's book ' For God , Queen & Colony ' he has Henry ( Belk ) Boik Attested 25 / 9 / 76 - Discharged 6 / 10 / 79 .
I also notice he isn't listed in Forsythe's the ' South African War Medal 1877-78-79 ; The Medal Roll '

Many thanks Admin. Located the ribbon on Ebay as suggested. My son-in-law in the UK has already bought it for me and I will get it in a few weeks time.
