A friend of mine took these pictures today of commemorative plaques in Philips Park Cemetery, Manchester. I hope they are of interest. The first picture is of the location of them near the main gate at the junction of Hulme Hall Lane and Briscoe Lane.
There is Private William Jones V.C, Private John Lyons and Private Joshua Lodge.
No he didn't. He went to photograph a new headstone put on a family grave and took the photographs for me because of my interest in the Zulu War.
I Know that Private Jones V.C. is buried in a paupers plot and a proper headstone was put on there some years back. I might have a photograph of it. If you want pictures of the other Rorke's Drift defenders I'll try and get down and find them. I don't know if they have headstones or not. It could take a while before I am able to do this though.
Digger.

Found them, thanks. It is a while since I have been on here. I'll have to familiarize myself with the other sections.
I have a pdf file of a newspaper page "The Standard 25 March 1879". It has some interesting write ups about Isandlwana. Is it possible to upload the file? It would need to be downloaded so it can be read as the text too small to be read on the forum.
