A Zulu called Zippo Empty
PostSubject: A Zulu called Zippo   A Zulu called Zippo EmptyFri Jul 01, 2022 9:39 pm

"The extent of British influence is curiously illustrated by a sight which may seen in the Shingwank Indian home in the Far West. Among the teachers there is young Zulu named Zippo. At the close of the Zulu War he was brought to England by the 90th Regiment. After a sojourn in London he found his way to Canada, and finally to the Home at Sault Ste. Marie. He is now, while acting as a teacher, studying theology, the hope of some day returning to Africa as a missionary to his Zulu brethren."
Bradford Daily Telegraph - Friday 25 August 1893

I wonder if he ever made it?
