Intreguing. So her family harboured the remants of the survivors from RD!! I wonder if she means iSandlwana? Or as she says perhaps it is all untrue as looking at her DOB she would have been coming up to two years old at the time of the battle.

Given her mother’s death in 1879 took place in Ladysmith, it might be worth examining there. Obviously those who fought at both iSandlwana & Rorke’s Drift who were suffering from various ailments and ills were treated at Ladysmith.
